Michael Napolitano

Artist | Writer | Savior of Society

STORY
1979: I was born in New York City and grew up in Jersey City, NJ.

1984-1991: I've been writing and drawing since I was in Cornerstone Elementary School.

1991-1993: My love of art started to blossom in Hoboken's Mustard Seed School where we did various types of interesting art projects.

1993-1997: Love of art blossomed into a passion at Jersey City's Hudson Catholic Regional High School, under the tutelage of Dr. Joseph Amorino.

1997-2001: I attended Montserrat College of Art in Beverly, Massachussetts. It was a small school that was very open in way of artistic expression. I Majored in Fine Arts with a focus on painting and color design and theory.

2005: I, after a lull of doing nothing really, took up a fashion course at Hudson County Community College, taught by Professor Adua Celentano. It revolved around draping, sketching and pattern making.

2006-2007: I'm currently living with my wife in Japan. When not teaching to support my growing family, I'm working on illustrations for regional magazines and for the websites for developing businesses.

CURRENT INTERESTS
I have a love of comics and I'm working on breaking into the field - probably self-publishing them (though I hope not). There are numerous stories that are floating in my mind, and one in particular that is solidifying itself. Right now, between fixing up this humble portfolio and teaching, I am simply trying to make the time to create this work. I'm currently doing all the writing on the trains to and from work.
